Mix the Beat: Millicent Friendly
Millicent Friendly’s innovation is rocking the Indie scenes with their innovative combination style that is creating an alternative sound to alternative rock.
This band carries an interesting combination of rock styles. Everything from classic rock, to the more heavy metal genre intermingles with this bands style. This band formed in Dallas, Texas and are quickly picking up on the music scene, straight back from their tour of Europe. Their concept is to take the legendary rock styles that have been set aside, and to begin mixing them with newer forms that are driving audiences to the performances.
Their recent CD is "Downtime" which is available for download on iTunes or through their various web presence areas. You can visit www.myspace.com/millicentfriendly or www.millicentfriendly.com for more information on this bands strike back to true rock and roll.

And their combination is working well. They also have an impressive list of influences (woohoo..putting John Lennon as #1). My personal favorite is “Poison Ivy”. They have some amazing guitar riffs going on. I hope to hear more from these guys. I bet they would put on a wicked live show.

While Millicent Friendly doesn’t even attempt to be a Beatles-clone - indeed, the band manages to sound contemporary and “with it,” there is a certain musical kinship between the band from Texas and the Fab Four. It is not that Millicent Friendly apes The Beatles but, in an odd way, seems to channel them.
Don’t believe me? Listen to their song “All I Want Is Everything” on their MySpace page and you’ll see what I mean.
