While Millicent Friendly doesn't even attempt to be a Beatles-clone - indeed, the band manages to sound contemporary and "with it," there is a certain musical kinship between the band from Texas and the Fab Four. It is not that Millicent Friendly apes The Beatles but, in an odd way, seems to channel them.

Don't believe me? Listen to their song "All I Want Is Everything" on their MySpace page and you'll see what I mean.

And their combination is working well. They also have an impressive list of influences (woohoo..putting John Lennon as #1). My personal favorite is "Poison Ivy". They have some amazing guitar riffs going on. I hope to hear more from these guys. I bet they would put on a wicked live show.
