Craig Gore

This “independent artist” markets himself as a singer of the “melodramatic popular song” as well as billing himself as a player/singer of Americana and folk music. After listening to a couple of tunes, I would buy that definition. I might even buy the Ten Year Sleep CD from 2007, which Gore put on his own label. This fellow is definitely an indie artist.
“Coming Apart” is a slow-moving, sad-atmosphere type of song. It may bring you down the first time you listen to it, but then, I think that’s what Gore intends. It is fairly well produced, to say the least.
Now, I must admit, “Bourbon Cigarettes” is really my kind of tune. Gore gives the listener a good bar song that is somewhat country and only a bit folk. But I could see this scenario playing out in some riverside tavern, where you may find all sorts of folks, and all categories in the social mix. The guitar solo is rather nice. This song puts me in mind of what T-Bone Burnett might produce, or should I say, already has produced.
Hey, now “Eight Years True” is Americana and folk. I hear a song that Gram Parsons would enjoy and John Hartford would understand.
I’d listen to Craig Gore again.

Good recording voice as the people in the music biz would say. I don’t exactly know what “melodramatic popular song” is but he is definitely in the folk country genre. Good songs and really well recorded. Great listening to for when you’re driving down the highway. Yeah I’d definitely listen to him again.
The singer holds true to the album Ten Year Sleep with his sound. The music is laid back and subtle enough to just let it flow in the background to contribute to a easy going ambiance. His voice is somber yet soothing, and the music has a hint of southern overtones. I am neutral when it come to this artist, he’s just above average in my book.
I like the Eight Years True of Craig Gore. It is more upbeat. There were no sharp notes that is why it relaxes me and makes me just sway. The message was also nice. And yes indeed it is true that all is new a day than yesterday. I love this song!
Oh man, yet another Folk indie singer. I will be the first to admit that his music, per se, is nothing to frown upon. But I’m frowning upon the genre. I mean, yes, sure, there are lots of people listening to folk and Americana music, and I don’t blame them or disrespect them in any way. It’s just that I don’t believe that an artist should pursue this type of music now, since it’s a genre that can’t be truly innovated. Just my two cents.
Wow, I really appreciate this artist, actually I am ardent fan of the genre his songs belong to, country has always been part of my music gallery.I like the laid back music and as Froix says nice stuff when you are driving on a highway.Country music is my all time option when I am driving down.It is really a great help.
I like the tone of his voice and although the lyrics seem a little on the melancholic side, the tune of his music has a soothing quality to it. I think I’d categorize him as one of the few crooners in this generation. It would be interesting to hear a fastpaced song from this talented singer
This artist is good, his voice matched in the kind of music he ’s singing. I never regret checking this one out. The lyrics is great and well made. As zordani said, I think its a good idea but lot of singers and artist stick in their own way and style because they are already known to it. I’ll say keep it up and more power to the artists who stick to their own style of music.
