Here in Louisville we have a thriving Metal Scene and we are trying to re-introduce the area to Alternative Rock. It has been a slow road to hoe, but we are finally getting there.

This genre came and really rocked the music world. Rock has become phenomenon, in present scenario most of the artists are opting for rock.Majority of them are doing exceptionally well.If done in a proper manner it can be blended with other genres well. The best rock artist who has left marked impact on face of music that is without any doubts- Jon Bon Jovi.

I love rock music thats all I can say, It will make my day just only listening to a pure rock music all day. JamAce you're right. Truly, rock music is an inspiration on most of the artist out there. I know some friends that form their band because of Rock music. It is really a good inspiration. Well, my favorite movie about rock is School of Rock. I love how the kids rock. Its so cute.

Rock music was an inspiration to many music lovers. It also pushed some to do rock music. And yes, Rock music was more appreciated during the 90's and 80's, considering our generation. I loved the music played by Dream Theater, Jon Bon Jovi, Poison, Def Leppard, Led Zeppelin, Harem Scarem, and many others. These bands are just several of my favorites on rock music.

Rock music was very popular during the 90’s here in our place and during that time I preferred listening to slow rock and a few alternative songs than trash metal. I would agree that the combination of rap and rock is not so good. Linkin Park would probably be an exemption if that would be an example for it.

There are so many different subcultures within music, aren't there.

I'm a fan of hard rock, thrash, and death metal, but not so much nu metal - although P.O.D are OK. The problem is the merger between rap and metal - I can't stand the rap part.
