Welcome to 2008
I know this has been an extended break over the holiday period and it wasn’t expected. It was intended to be no more than a week but then the writer fell ill. We should get back to normal shortly. I did find some articles written back in August by an alternate writer that I don’t believe were ever published. I’ll get these published and ensure we always stay ahead.
For all of those who have written requesting a review, a number of you saw your review come online but there is a huge backlog. I really appreciate the enthusiasm and as the blog’s popularity (and pagerank) keeps growing, I hope the artists are benefiting from the additional exposure. This site is and always will be dedicated to helping indie artists reach more people.
I am open to contributed posts. If you are an avid indie fan with a knack for writing and want some exposure, send me a sample. My bandwidth is limited and the list of pending reviews/bios keeps growing. I am paying writers to help me keep up but this is a tough business model considering the blog is not yet monetized. I have always been committed to the artists first. I’ll find something appropriate at some point.
It’s been 20 months since I wrote the first welcome post. I want to thank everyone for sticking with me as there were some big gaps in postings in the past. Bringing in a paid writer has helped to keep them flowing. I wish everyone great success in 2008. Keep making the music that enhances our lives and I’ll keep getting the word out.

2007 has passed. I wonder what can you we hope for on the near future. Your writing is one the best, but it has to be updated more frequently, since there are lots now who are interested to read the articles that you are writing. It is rather nice of you to give some space on your site to other Indie writers to write on. This will surely give some recognition for these writers. Keep up the good work!
I am extremely pleased that I’ve found this site, and I have so many new songs downloaded thanks to Indie Update. Please keep up the great work. I look forward to sticking around. The reviews are fantastic and I would have never known of some of these bands if not for this site.
Thanks Leighdu. I’m glad you find the site valuable. There is a lot of talent out there and I’m happy to be able to help others discover it.
I’m a bit late, but hell thanks for the 2008 message, I have been a quite vistor to this site for a couple of months as I’m inot my indie music and you revire some quite off the wall and upcoming stuff – anyhow I might get a bit more vocal in ‘08
I know I am late as well. But it is always good to be welcomed into the new year. I am glad to be vocal and check out the new artists you are listing, and when I feel a comment coming on I will surely post it. Which is easy for me. I find that this is valuable not only to the people viewing but to others who need to get their music out there for people to hear.
Very welcome and Thank YOU for putting out such an awesome site. Not only have I found new music, but I have also found out about some of my favorite bands that have reunited. Keep up the great work!
