Advait SarkarFirst of all, make sure you understand that this guy is 16 years old. I suppose there are more and more young musical talents around the world, as the population grows and the percentages work in their favor.
Here’s what Sarkar says about his effort: “SoulPepper is my very first attempt at making the music in my mind tangible.” He rightfully considers his music “diverse” and tries to take the listener through emotional highs and lows both within the song and from one composition to another. While he may be reaching for the stars with youthful exuberance and could be disappointed in the reactions from some who don’t understand, his talent should compensate for any shortcomings in the audience.
Sarkar is supported by some fine rhythm tracks and wonderful flute playing on such songs as “Dreams Do Come True” and “After The Rain.” He is one of the young players who displays both technical talent and very quick hands. “Solfeggietto Surprise” is a more reflective piece at the start, but the remaining measures surprise the listener with a dizzying pace. It is an aptly named tune. Please check out the harmonica on “Passionfruit Orchard.” In addition, “Hide and Seek” is fun!
“A Ride Through the Mist” and “As Long as it Takes” extend the introspective part of Sarkar’s personality. Keep your ears open for this young man.
