Bischeop Csynnikal

City music, this is. Two cities, to be exact.
Bischeop Csynnikal is from Chicago. It’s his hometown. But, as the Web site states, he hails from the “City of Wind” but is stuck in the “City of Sin.”
Csynnikal’s collection of songs is called 1st of A New Breed. What breed this is meant to be, I’m not sure. The songs are good hip-hop, with some rap feel. The final cuts are well produced and very listenable. Maybe it’s best to let another set of ears weigh in on just where this music fits, if it is necessary to find a category.
On CDBaby, the writer (I think it was Bryson Taylor) calls it this way – “….he describes his flow as a hybrid of lyricism, battle rap, poetry, and philosophy, into one perfect flow unlike the world has ever heard. The name Bishop comes from a Chicago friend who nicknamed him, commenting he was wise but had two sides. The name Cynical comes from a female friend who described to him that he had a Cynical mindframe. He went to go look it up in the dictionary, and it just stuck.”
Damon Hodge, of Las Vegas Weekly Magazine, writes, “When Csynnikal does this, as on “Father’s Smile”—in which he tells his unborn child how growing up without a dad led him to death row—and the a cappella verse on the socially incisive “Illegal,” he’s on his A-game. Csynnikal’s lyrics and storytelling can be quite memorable; his voice and most of his beats, not so much.”
OK, I’ll go with that.

I love Bischeop Csynnikal! Starting from his name, which is clearly an auto-ironic pun, and ending with the incredibly good lyrics, this hip-hop artist with certain rap influences will surely get under your skin, even if the style is not one of your favorites. It was about time hip-hop got someone more true to the real roots of the genre to keep the flag up.
The name says it all,the hip-hop with a touch of rap has always been a rage for club goers. There has been flux of such singers but this artist has definitely some special effect in his songs. They are nice to listen to.Majority of the hip hoppers fare well on the chart busters.
I must say that his name is definitely compelling, however his music isn’t. The lyrics are sprinkled with curse words and the beats don’t seem to keep a rhythm well with music. It is absolutely dreadful hearing rap that speaks of killing and money. I find myself trying to figure out what he is really trying to get across with his music.
Rap has always been about the struggles of living in a bad neighborhood, about living the hard life, and getting on top, no matter what! That’s what rap is about, and that’s what he’s getting across. I don’t know why you would feel this is inappropriate; things have always been this way.
I agree with illytodd, I hate the kinds of music that have bad lyrics. I know that rap as you said is about your life your struggles and become famous and rich. But you just can express it in a good music, I mean, not some cursing and bad words in the lyrics. Anyway, Its only my opinion and point of view. Maybe others have their own way of showing their feelings.
I think curses and bad words are not suppose to be incorporated in songs. Even in rap songs. I think music, for whatever its form is, should be for audience to dance to the tune with. It soould be made to give different messages like to keep the audience inspired, to realize things, to be excited to be relaxed. Without the bad words and curses, Bischeop Csynnikal is just okay for me.
