Folk music is, to me, anyway, just as viable, enjoyable, and authentic as any other, especially because it doesn’t take on pretentious, “artsy” airs. Yes, it can be inelegant, but it also makes points anyone can understand and not have to resort to having to take a college-level course on philosophy or The Shading of Irony 101 to “get” the lyrics.

I had never heard of Corey Crowder until last year. For some reason I was sent a “friends request” on Myspace, so I decided to check him out. I cannot really say that I like Corey’s genre of music, but he definitely has an appealing voice and I think he could probably go very far with the people that enjoy that kind of music.

He has some pretty strong influences which could make him a increadable singer if he put his mind to it and could be as big as all the other bands/singers out there because this kid could have some pretty nice talent. I say this because celebrity’s just stand there and whore them selfs out.

I think that if you do not give it a chance you will never know what you are missing. He has a fantastic voice and although classified as a fold singer, I do not really put him in that category. The song writing ability is amazing. I have not heard a song written like “Here’s looking at you kid”. Then you have a lighter sound on the song “When I’m with you”. I would recommend this to anyone who is a real music appreciator.

He is a great singer in my opinion, I do not know a lot of his songs, but my favorite is that single called Learning to let go, it is such a beautiful song, I always listen to that, it is not so folk I see, it is a kind of modern folk, pretty nice!

Corey Crowder is definitely a folk singer, meaning that I will definitely not be listening to any of the music he ever releases! Folk music is just about as bad as that ridiculous rap “music.” I really can not stand that genre of music, the lyrics always sound like a little child wrote them. It is quite sad. Well good luck to Mister Crowder anyways.
