No one is more upset by the end of Darci Cash than myself. Having two Darci Cash tattoos and a couple copies of "In the Company of Strangers" as well as unreleased demos I am always hoping for another taste of the musical magic they expounded. Fortunately I did get a small taste with their (as of yet) current venture "Three Hands" (EP).

Darci Cash put together their independent release of the "Three Hands EP" a year or so back and since have all been working on music. Mack has always had a side project called Flashing Red Lights which has become his main project since the end of Darci Cash. I believe Ben still helps him out from time to time. There are still ways to find music through these very talented guys - albeit in different forms. For some good music, check out the Ghost Kings, the Parson Red Heads, The Hanks or Hungry Birds. All of these bands are amazing and have some sort of tie to the original Darci Cash.

If you are serious about getting your act together and you have "fans" begging you to come back to their area... then do whatever it takes to get back there. You have to put yourself out there as much as possible and you have to do it, most likely, at a cost or loss of profit for a little while. Its just like any other business.

Are they not even responding on their site or anything? I'm pretty sure as long as I had one "fan" outside of friends and family that I'd be playing in their living room if they paid me.

This is what I don't get about "hardcore" rock fans. Rock n roll got its start with really upbeat, singable (if sometimes a mite sentimental) songs and ballads. Then it became so dominated by the loud, almost furious sound the hardcore fans seem to think is the only valid sound for the genre.

Now, while I wouldn't like to listen to Darci Cash all day, I do like their "channeling" of soft rock groups from the late 1960s and early 1970s. Give them a listen and a fair shake...maybe you'll like them.
