Fabonacci
Hiatus is a curious word. When a group or individual takes a hiatus, it puts them somewhere between a new project/starting over and taking a breather before starting up again in the same vein.
Fabonacci, from the UK (Midlands to be exact) is apparently on hiatus for “several months.” The reasons are reasonably straightforward, according to their online information. Guitarist James, one of five band members, has been unable to play for awhile. The group is also working on pieces for a third EP, which is also taking them away from the live-show scene.
Under the direction of Needle In The Groove Management, Fabonacci will probably be back in the saddle, so to speak. A quick listen to “Projected Thoughts” and “Long Time Coming” give the listener the idea that this alternative-rock band has a definite touch with ballads that fall into the thoughtful and rather dreamy category. Yet the rhythm track is sharp, providing a nice contrast to the softness overall It is a rather nice combination.
Words such as “stunning” and “aching with emotion” have been applied to the early efforts of this group. The band does have quality on its side. The pace picks up a bit with “Blackout,” a tune with a nice chord structure and a little stronger rock base. Will they be back? The jury is still out.
