I think these guys are worth watching for because they have their own brand of style. Remember that in any business, unique ideas always get the upper hand. It is just like the music industry where you should sell your self first before you can sell your songs. I have never heard their songs before but based on what their pictures are saying, they have the confidence. Confidence usually means that they have something. Better watch out for them. They could hit the big ones without us knowing it.

I'm in complete agreement with you on this, Leighdu. This isn't a group whose music I'd listen to on a regular basis, let alone a daily basis.

Even if I loved Alive in Wild Paint, I hardly think I'd listen to them more than once a week. My taste in music is very diverse - though it tends to lean heavily more to the classical music end of the musical spectrum - and I get bored very fast if I listen to one genre too many times. The one exception I'll make in the rock genre is The Beatles, and THEY aren't an indie band.

I'm kind of torn here. One on hand they have decent vocals and piano work. On the other hand however, I don't think I could listen to them daily. When dealing with this kind of "love" music, I think you have to be outstanding, and right now, these guys are a middle of the road.

Work in progress....work in progress. That's quite an appropriate simile.

I don't think it sounds too incomplete or incoherent. Maybe a bit nebulous in some passages, but I think the piano part will work out after a bit of judicious tweaking here and there.

I have never heard of this either. It does sound like it is progressive and I agree that it has potential i think it needs to be worked on a bit.

As you said:
"Really, piano that sounds like a work in progress from the living room. Great stuff. "
Work in Progress. The piano needs a tad bit of work, but it is still really great stuff.

Wow! I really do like this band's sound. Of course, this is based only on listening to their song "Cold Spell," which has that mysterious, eerie quality mixed with soft-rock renderings. Granted, I probably won't switch from Billy Joel any time soon, but Alive in Wild Paint is definitely worth listening to.
