Interesting looking band for the name is just one of the surprises the Pixies have to offer the music world. A band named Pixies made me envision some winged creature fluttering by with a trail of gold dust or at the very least a band full of cutie women. Pixies have taken a popish of sounds and vocals to create music that is unique and fresh. This magical sound is brought to our ears by three grown men and one woman, none of which display any kind of wings, yet maybe some sprinkles of gold dust within their sound.

Pixies are one really awesome band. I got hooked to them in the early 90s. It is sad to see that the band is no more the same as it used to be in the good old days. I wish they could come back for one last concert.

Love the entry as I'm a big pixies fan.

Missed out on then first time around as I was too young, started to get into music around the time of grunge so was familar with their loud\quiet dynamics.

Really got into them towards the late 90's and have not looked backed.

Seen them live about 6 times and enjoyed each show like it was my last.

Must say that I'm a bit dubious about them releasing a new album but if they do they do then I trust Black Francis to know the deal!

I think I recognise the name, and I just looked on the myspace site and I think I recognise the sound too. I have a terrible memory for music, but I'm gonna look up their old albums.

Whatever, I like the sound - it's nice when old bands come back and still 'have it' - shame half of them seem to come back for money, and destroy their old sound in favor of attracting new fans :(

From NME, http://www.nme.com/news/pixies/31775

Frank Black: Kim Deal is against new Pixies album

Singer speaks out about new record
12.Oct.07 2:00pm

Pixies will not be making a new album, due to bassist Kim Deal's reluctance, says frontman Frank Black.

Despite plans the reunited band would start work on a new album in January of this year, Black denied this was the case.

I really don't think it's out of the question though.

I used to love them, I really like that song "Debaser", it's one of their best songs ever I think.
I wish bands like this one would make comebacks, we miss quality bands around, I do never lose my hope, the band components are not that old, maybe we could get a surprise from them, would be great, wouldn't it? :D

ps; sorry for the first comment, my mistake
