Ah, good catch Brian. I was thinking that myself too after looking at the site and saw the new single release, and then coming back and re-reading here, I think we all maybe read that a bit too fast and/or misunderstood what the author was saying.

Why do all of you think its a compilation album. The definition of compilation is the act of compiling. In this case I think the author meant new songs being compiled onto a disc.

You do have some bands that just keep going and going and going (think Aerosmith) but for the most part, some bands just can’t top what they did in their prime. I’m not sure why Revelation Theory is already putting together a compilation album or even if that is indeed what their album is going to entail, but I do know that music business is pretty tough, and something when the going gets tough, many bands just can’t get going with it. I do wish them success though.

I have to admit to wondering why the heck they’re putting a mixed cd out. I’m about as confused as Shadow above me. I never heard of these guys till now, and they really do have some great music going on. Hell Yeah is one heck of a great song, and Light it Up reminds me so much of Hinder. I agree though- Have they run out of steam? It’s more difficult to think up songs as the band grows older. It happens all the time except with the few bands that have managed to make it work through one means or another.

It seems to me that the older the band, the less likely they are to actually write new music and put out a real album. (Certain exceptions are bands like The Eagles – although they spent several years after reuniting touring on their old standbys. And I realize they do not actually qualify as an indie band )
That said why is Revelation Theory putting out a compilation album? Have they run out of steam and just don’t want to take the time to put pen to paper? What’s the deal?
