Emergency Service

Emergency ServiceWidely viewed as “up and coming” from New York City, Emergency Service will be playing on the east coast of the United States. They have enlisted a public relations manager in Sarah Wolff who is putting out the word on this interesting group.

Billed as a fusion group that puts together rock, hip-hop, jazz, funk and reggae, ES has created dozens of songs. Newcomers can get a taste of their work on The Better Days EP, an effort that grew over the past four years from a duo start on open mike nights. Go back to 2006 to hear some earlier items from This Emergency….

With seven members and a strong sound, Emergency Service kicks into such tunes as “If You Find” with reggae and hip hop in front of some strong horns. “Takes Me Back” has a more soulful start. The trumpet gives the song a rhythm-and-blues feel that carries throughout the song. Interesting background vocals stand apart from the hip hop lead singer.

Emergency Service music is the product of Sam Rivers – guitar, vocals; Ed Matos – vocals; Chris Norton – trumpet; George Oberndorfer – bass; Dan Policar – keyboards; Ben Bynum – drums; Melissa Acosta – vocals. They are appearing in various Connecticut, Pennsylvania and New York venues in April and May.
